Hi folks, is there any interest in another crank up during the summer?

Our Diary!. We're doing the IF events, Acton Scott Mayday, Newby hall beginning of June, Astle, Ducklington and welland in July, Onslow in August, and Dorset in September.

It'll need to fit in with those Dates so how about some suggestions for Dates that people are free?. The more the merrier.
It'll be the usual format, a private event for us enthusiasts and friends only this time in a field.
It would be nice to do it over a weekend so we can have a BBQ and a few beers on the saturday night and some lighting sets running hopefully providing illumination.
We should be able to recreate the Lister line up for those that missed it but all makes and models welcome, bring whatever you can manage.

    What do you all think?

    Cheers Gary..

Hi Martin, No paperwork yet, so i'm just assuming that i'll be invited back, I don't think that I upset anyone last year :).

Bob, well the weather couldnt be much worse than in December so expect the worst and then you won't be dissapointed :)

    Cheers Gary..

Sounds good to me - I'm probably only doing 1000 engine, Welland and Lincoln this year, and possibly Neunen & Newby Hall depending on work...

I think it was my suggestion to have a two-stroke semi diesel event, so I had best get my digit extracted and get the trolley done for the Crossley TSH...

Forget the crosseley. Get one of the Ogles running.

I was also toying with the idea of rallying the Tangye M-type pumping set this year..?

The phrase "too many engines, not enough rallies" springs to mind.

I am spoilt for choice this year, as I have more engines up & running than ever before. But I will probably be mainly showing the Ruston compressor set, Bamford SGA3 and the 2 Bamford horizontals.

for now i still only have a lister d and a wolseley that is fully functioning, this time next year there should also be a crossley 1040 and h2 pump, a villiers wx11 pumpset a petter 2a 8hp and a petter paz1 on the scene, as well as : )

Same situation! we've got several engine's that can be rallied but we like to get at least one new restoration out each season.
This season it'll be the Lister P and ball hopper Lister L hopefully!, both are well along now and don't need to much doing to get them finished.
The Wolseley should get an outing this year too.

Doesn't that depend on something else... or have you given up on that idea

There are enough rallies, and a choice of about 20 engines that I could rally given time and £££...

Sounds good folks we'll give it some thought and i'll have to check at the farm to see what suits them it might be an August or September date.
    I'll keep you all posted.

Gary-The rally diary seems to be fairly empty the weekend after Welland, apart from Cromford.

That would certainly suit me and the other reprobates that I usually spend my summer weekends with :D

How does that sound with you and other interested parties? I'm guessing that the idea is to have some sort of semi-diesel clagfest to do our bit for global warming

Hi again folks, after some negotiations with the land owner we've aggreed the date for the crank up on the 18th and 19th of September.
It's planned to be very informal people can come and go as they please and can turn up and camp from Thursday afternoon if they wish as I'll be there from Thursday getting things ready.
We're not opening it to the public but if anyone would like to invite fellow enthusiasts that will be fine. We just want it to be an enjoyable weekend for everyone.
I think that we can promise that it will be warmer than the last one :)

I hope you can all make it.

    Cheers Gary..
